Memories of Eric Shorter, b. 1936

On the Tilbury side of Gower's Walk, there was another feature, at the top in a corner made by a wall of The Gunmakers' Proof House building in Commercial Road. This corner was occupied by a male urinal. I used it just once, and it was the most foul place I have ever experienced. It was never cleaned or flushed in any sense.
