Salvation Army Shelter, 192-6 Hanbury Street

The huge Hanbury Street Shelter, at 192-196 Hanbury Street, opened on 10 March 1889, just after the Ripper murders - recycling the redundant Tower Hamlets Swimming Baths. The Shelter was demolished by 1934, and replaced by the Brady Girls’ Club, later the Brady Arts and Community Centre.
