A diminutive survival, this single-bay one-room deep three-storey and gambrel garret shophouse was built in 1846 for Maria Hixon of Croydon, an heir to this part of the Turner estate. The builder was Joseph Little of Size Yard, and the first occupant and perhaps the client for the rebuilding was George Langley, a trunk maker. Its footprint is scarcely larger than that of its predecessor, which was likely less tall. There was coffee-room use in the decades around 1900. Latest ground-floor use is as the Makkah grill.1
